• Small dog breeds: French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels don't need much room to be happy.
• Rabbits: Quiet and litter-trainable, good for apartments as long as they get daily exercise time.
• Fish: Zero noise and minimal space required, though tank size still matters for the species.
• Guinea pigs: Social and easy to care for in a modest-sized cage.

Space matters less than daily attention, exercise, and mental stimulation for most of these.
